MYRON BLUMBERG

Recently retired, Myron Blumberg is the founder of Blumberg Law Offices.

Mr. Blumberg obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota, and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California, School of Law where he served as Associate Editor for the Southern California Law Review. In 1954, he commenced the private practice of law in Long Beach, California.

Mr. Blumberg has broad trial and appellate experience, having tried hundreds of cases involving death, personal injury, malpractice, fraud, construction, probate contests, business, real estate development and land use law, and cases concerning federal, state, and local governments and other public entities. In 1979, he was certified under the Recognition of Experience certification program of the California Trial Lawyers Association as (1) Experienced Trial Lawyer, (2) General Personal Injury, (3) Professional Negligence, and (4) Products Liability. His rating by Martindale-Hubbell is A-V, which is their highest ranking for skill, reputation and professional ethics.

Professional and Civic Activities:

• Co-founder of the Legal Aid Foundation of Long Beach, California.
• Founder and first editor of Long Beach Bar Bulletin, Long Beach, California.
• Member of National Board of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association.
• Arbitrator for the Los Angeles Superior Court under its mandatory and voluntary arbitration program. Settlement Officer by appointment of Los Angeles County Superior Court in its Settlement Officer Program for cases involving potentially long trials.
• Founder, Director and Legal Counsel of Fair Housing Foundation of Long Beach, a non-profit corporation dedicated to elimination of racial discrimination in housing, and trial counsel in many jury trials on behalf of victims of such discrimination. (1964 to 1983)
• Lecturer on Trial Practice for the Trial Advocacy Institute sponsored by the Long Beach Bar Association.
• Lecturer on condominium litigation in seminars of the California Trial Lawyers Association.
• Lecturer for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, Law Division, for attorney workshops on trials of civil rights cases.

In 1982, Mr. Blumberg opened a second office in Mammoth Lakes, California. From 1984 to 1990, he was special Litigation Counsel for the Town of Mammoth Lakes, and from 1982 to 1998, he was Legal Counsel and Litigation Counsel to Mammoth Lakes Fire Protection District and June Lake Fire Protection District in Mono County, California,

In 1986, Mr. Blumberg co-founded the Eastern Sierra branch of Dispute Resolution Center of California, which provides arbitration and mediation services in Mammoth Lakes and Southern California. He served as the Center's Director from 1986 until 2004. In that capacity, he served as a mediator, arbitrator, and participating lecturer in workshops and seminars devoted to the training of mediators.
